We begin at the end of Dawn of the Dragon. Malefor has just been killed by Spyro and Cynder, and the Chronicler is adding the final touches to his records.

Already there are some strange additions to the story, such as the Core of Lyth and the name Amyntyre. The Core is what Malefor got sucked into before the Earth started shattering, more backstory will be given it in upcoming chapters, and Amyntyre was Malefor's name before he became evil. You seriously think he grew up with a name like Malefor?
